About the event

The Ontario Association of Black Paralegals is excited to host its second Notarizing & Commissioning event at the Wildseed Centre (Black Lives Matter Toronto headquarters).

 

This interactive session will explore the practical, ethical and business aspects of notarizing and commissioning documents, helping legal professionals make the most of their appointment.

 

Open to paralegals, lawyers, law clerks and legal assistants, as well as members of the public who want to better understand the notarization process. The event will also include a CPD-accredited learning component. Featured Speakers

Sehmani KingSun-Leo, Paralegal and Managing Partner, KingSun Law

Sehmani is a Licensed Paralegal and entrepreneur with over 18 years of experience in the legal space. Sehmani has worked in the Toronto and Central East regions in the Ontario & Superior Courts as a Court Clerk/Registrar, which makes her very knowledgeable about court practices. Sehmani holds a paralegal diploma, an alternative dispute resolution certificate and court support certification. When she isn't running her practice, she supports her community, particularly in hosting networking events for legal professionals and moderating events to bring light to issues such as practice management, rehabilitation after incarceration and programming for single mothers. Sehmani has persevered past all obstacles put in front of her and she is now a licensed professional, college professor, notary public and an inspiration to young mothers who want to learn to see past their circumstances.
