We are an organization dedicated to advancing and supporting the career advancement and equality of Black paralegals and law clerks. In addition to providing mentorship opportunities, continuing professional development and other career supports, we also provide these individuals with the tools to navigate systemic discrimination in the justice system. We have three membership tiers. Paralegal (licensed and non-licensed), Law Clerk and Student. Anyone in any of these categories can become a member.

Not at all! Anyone can join OABP. Our focus is promoting career equality and advancement for Black paralegals and law clerks, but we are also dedicated to providing all legal professionals with the tools to recognize, denounce and combat systemic inequality.

We're a non-profit organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our goal is to provide you with the best service possible to meet our mandate and your needs. Our minimal annual membership fee allows us to continue to serve you and meet those needs and providing members with valuable benefits.

You must be a member to join the mentorship program.

No. However, OABP does offer student membership which gives students access to our events and resources.
